Darkest Night 2020 Letter: Dear Author

I don't tend to like character death fics, especially not when it's not canon, although I do like a certain type of angstier afterlife fics, specifically the sort about watching the people they've left behind. Oblivion is the exception to not liking character death, I'll go into further detail with regard to that in that section.
General likes
My favourite type of fic tends to be the sort that elaborates on details not covered by the original media, whether that be missing scenes and post-canon stuff or stories about the characters in other situations entirely (especially things like the Budapest thing from Avengers: stuff that is clearly significant in the characters' lives but is never shown onscreen).
Oblivion
There's a lot in Oblivion's canon that goes either unspoken or just ignored. Jack Harper is abused by one partner and barely seen by the other, seems to be coerced into sex by both Julia and Vika. Another interesting thing is that what small amount we see of the Vika in Tower 52, she doesn't notice the difference between her Jack and Technician 49, and either doesn't notice or doesn't care about his injuries. This kind of begs the question about what the other Jack Harper clones have been through and what they're going to do now the Tet is gone. None of the others know what Technician 49 knew about Julia and the cloning or even that the Scavs are the true human survivors, so how would their experiences after the Tet falls differ from that of Technician 52? Because there are clearly at least 52 clones.
The exception to the character death thing is that I think it would be interesting to perhaps explore the history of one specific area, of what happens to the clones and how fast they're replaced if someone works out something is wrong, what happens if only one of the partners is killed or if they still think they're an 'effective team' but Sally and the creature in the Tet doesn't.

I think there's plenty of stuff to be explored here. There's Jack Ryan's injury and the accident where he sustained it and Ramius outliving first his wife and then his second in command, and not many of the other characters have much of a story or an arc at all, so I think there's plenty of space for some angst and some messing up of these characters as well as the four I've requested (Ryan, Ramius, Borodin and Mancuso).
With regard to Ramius and Ryan both, survivor's guilt would be a good angle, especially if they bond over that. Possibly Jack meets up with Ramius or Mancuso after some other mission, possibly a fic could look into the long term effects of Jack's injuries, because surgery that was cutting edge in the 80s certainly isn't now, and perhaps the long-term outlook isn't as good as he'd hoped.
Because I really like Borodin as a character, I'd maybe like potential fics focussed on him to not be character death-centric, although as I mentioned earlier, afterlife fic is fine. Be as gruesome with his injuries as you like, haha.
